The Social Network!

Ok now there's a problem im seeing more and more everyday on social networks such as twitter and facebook. Everyone seems to express their problems on these networks; Mostly the ladies. You shouldn't post these things for everyone to see because you don't want anyone to know about the problems you're having. Most of all noone really cares how you feel. Some people may say if you don't like what they post you can delete them or unfollow or whatever the case may be but when it comes down to it you should want to keep your problems from eveyone else. It's not only aggravating but some of the problems these people are having should be embarrassing for others to know anyway. Another thing ladies do that's very ignorant and childish is call guys out over social networks. For example: A guy and girl have a bad break up and she starts to talk bad about him to everyone. The thing i have a problem with is her getting back with the guy. They don't realize how dumb that makes them look. Try not sharing your feeling with everyone and keeping them to yourself.

A Real Woman/Man!

Ok if you're on any social network or have any friends you always see or hear someone saying they want a real woman/man. But the question we don't ask is; what is a real woman/man? Now some people may try to come up with a definition of what they think this is but in reality, who says that what you say is the truth? Just because you say this is what a real women/man is doesn't mean that's what it is. When people are asked this question they usually come up with something that they've always wanted in a man or woman or something they've never had. Most of the time you hear this from women and rarely men. Women get hurt continuously and start to feel that all men are the same. Although there's some truth in that assumption it's not all the way true. As a matter a fact what women don't realize is that all men have the same thoughts they just have different actions. Women say how they're so independent and know what they want in life and whatever else they feel qualifies as being a REAL WOMAN, but they usually aren't that independent and don't know exactly what they want in life. So ladies I ask you...what is a REAL MAN? Or is it a defiant answer to this question? You can continuously say a real man has the qualities such as being respectful, trustworthy, and loyal but isn't that the same thing as a good man? That's safe to say right? It's easier to define a good man because everyone knows right from wrong, but how can anyone define a REAL MAN or WOMAN?

Thinking Beyond Color!

Some people may say race isnt an Issue anymore but some will say It still is. I think we still have a slight problem with it. The past couple of years their has been a couple of instances in sports where I think race had a big part in. When yu hear the names Ben Roethlisberger, Michael Vick, and Brett Favre yu think big name quarterbacks. But these big name quarterbacks have been in the news for far different reasons. Ben Roethlisberger was allegedly accused of sexual assault, Mike Vick was indicted of dog fighting, and Brett Favre was accused of sending his dick through the phone while he was married. Roethlisberger received no jail time but was suspended four games, Mike Vick was incarcerated for two years and spent some time suspended, and Brett Favre was fined $50,000. By the way Mike Vick is the only black guy! Now I'm not just sayin this bc of I'm black but it seems like killing an animal is more severe then raping a woman and committing adultery! Mike Vick paid his debts to society and was suspended without pay for his crimes but yet every time Vick is on tv yu hear abt his dog fighting incident. Why? Is it bc of race? Or do we think fighting dogs is bigger than sexually assaulting women and committing adultery? Now that big Ben is In the SUPERBOWL, for two weeks ppl will praise him and say how he has turned his life around whereas with Vick you will forever hear about his dog fighting incident. Bc of Brett Favre's hall of fame numbers over his years his incidents werent heard for after two weeks! Now if mike Vick wins a SUPERBOWL, will that be enough? Him coming back into the league, reviving his career, and taking his team back to the playoffs was a big enough accomplishment. When will race not be a factor in our generation? Or do we have to wait another 100 years?

Switching Positions!!

I never got why females always try to take the role of a male in any form of relationship. Males are known as the cheaters, the liars, the players etc. But when women try to reverse the roles, in my opinion, it's ignorant. If a guy has sex with two best friends, two relatives, or a number of females they get crowned for doing so. But reverse the roles, and the female is known as a slut. Some would say these acquisitions aren't fair but who says life is fair? Females try to play the "playa" role and have a guy's mentality but it doesn't make you look smart you're actually humiliating yourself. You don't have to have a guy's mentality to have a successful relationship you just have to be smart. Don't settle for less, know what you're getting yourself into before you jump into a relationship, and be honest throughout the entire process. Women have tendencies of being to nice, not letting go when it's time, and giving to many chances. Often more than not, women hurt themselves by not trying to hurt their partner. Their are more ways to have a healthy relationship without taking on the "playa" mentality.

Hate! Envy! Jealousy!

People often hate, envy, and show jealousy towards others. No one knows why these feelings exist we just have to accept them. A question that I haven't been able to grasp the answer for is; why do black people constantly try to bring down other black people && their success? Is it because we hate each other? Or are we just jealous of what they have because we don't have it? I think it is a combination of both. We hate seeing other successful black people because we are less fortunate than they are and we want what they have. But why do we feel this way? We should embrace the people who were here before us and that gave us the opportunity to have the privileges we have today. Without them we wouldn't have the Oprah's, the Jay Z's, and the Russel Simmons of the world. Instead of being jealous of these people of higher stature, we should try to match their success with our own. Will this day ever happen? I doubt it! But if we (African-Americans) all proceed to being the best at what we do, we will have more black people with more importance with reputations gained by their abilities and achievements. We are already living in a "white man's world" so why not come together instead of continuously bring each other down? Think about it!

Not Holding Grudges!

One thing you never want to do is hold a grudge. I'm glad that I found out this early in life rather than late. The reason you never want to hold a grudge on someone is because you never know when you're going to need that person. People don't always do the right thing or treat you the best but don't hold that against them, always forgive but never forget. These words were written to me today by a certain someone and made me feel better about myself for not holding a grudge or anything against this person:

"What's up Man? I don't have enuff space 2 say the things i need 2 say but I'll get it started and finish anotha day. First off I love you. actions may not prove it, but u r my first born n I think of u daily. The money situation is anotha note. I have failed u and I am ashamed of that. My only hope is that u somehow find it n ur heart 2 4give me and give me anotha chance at being ur Father. I kno it will take time b/c the same thing happened w/ me and ur grandad. It took a while 4 us 2 repair the damaged that we caused ova the years. I love u and I'm proud of u. Thanks 4 making me so proud and proving 2 ur mom who did an exceptional job raising u that u r a strong black man raised by a single parent and has never been in trouble w/ the law and will grow 2 b a respectable citizen living the american dream. Be safe up there and take care. I love u SON!!!!!!"

-I understand that truly forgiving someone is hard and i'm not talkin about convincing yourself you forgive that person but truly forgiving them. "Although I forgave I will never forget!"
